A TON of Work!
Honestly, it wasn't that much work, but it was literally a ton of compost. Thanks to one of my fellow coop members, I got a good tip that a local landfill processes some wonderful compost. Our extremely dry weather of the past few months makes it a great time to purchase--more volume for your money. Of course, at only $25 per ton (my bill was $27) it's a bargain anytime. After I unloaded it to an out-of-the-way long-term "storage" site at the end of the yard, I (re)moved 5 or 6 wheelbarrow loads to the garden. I used more yesterday than I thought I would, and I'm not nearly done. I may have to go back for more!!!
